ABOUT ME

Mona Sharma is a globally renowned nutritionist and wellness speaker who has guided celebrities such as Will Smith, Jay Shetty, Julianne Hough, and Hrithik Roshan. Her expertise has made her a recurring guest on prestigious platforms such as The Today Show, The Doctors, and the popular Red Table Talk with The Smith family.

As a passionate wellness advocate, Mona believes that optimizing our health span requires merging ancient healing practices with modern medicine. Her personal recovery journey after two heart surgeries rekindled her connection to her upbringing at the Sivananda Ashram, shaping her approach with the potent blend of Eastern healing rituals and contemporary medical advancements. With a focus on healing our food system and emphasizing the body’s innate intelligence to heal itself, Mona is dedicated to transforming lives and fostering a healthier, more vibrant world, inside and out.

In her late twenties, while excelling in a high-stress corporate beauty career, Mona faced chronic anxiety, severe digestive issues, and heart palpitations, which eventually led to two heart surgeries. When doctors mentioned the potential need for a pacemaker, she realized it was time for a profound change. Inspired by her mother’s healing journey, she left the corporate world and returned to her roots, spending time at an ashram. There, she immersed herself in yoga, meditation, Ayurvedic practices, and the healing power of community and nature. This shift led to a 40-pound weight loss and a renewed sense of harmony in her body and mind. After experiencing her own healing journey, including the loss of twins and later the birth of her two beautiful children, Mona regained her personal power, exemplifying the healing impact of food, mindfulness, and nature.

Seeing the transformative impact of these practices for herself, Mona transitioned her career to help others achieve wellness. She became a yoga and meditation teacher and a registered holistic nutritionist, eventually working with professional athletes, celebrities, and CEOs to restore balance, resilience, and joy in their lives. However, she soon realized that merely prescribing diets was a superficial fix for deeper issues rooted in trauma, stress, and limiting beliefs. This understanding led her to become a Master NLP Practitioner, empowering her to help clients overcome mental and emotional barriers.

Through a holistic approach that integrates nutrition, movement, mindfulness, and coaching, Mona’s career evolved into educating clients on the power of integrative healthcare—a vision she believes is the future of medicine, combining Eastern and Western theories. Driven by her passion for gut health, Mona began juicing jicama, her favorite prebiotic-rich root vegetable, creating a delicious, nutrient-packed juice she shared with clients. Recognizing jicama’s health potential, she launched Xicama™ (hee-ca-mah), introducing three sparkling water flavors that became an instant hit, breaking sales records at Coachella 2019 and securing placement in California’s top retailers.

Mona is deeply rooted in ancestral healing practices and advocates for the interconnectedness of personal and environmental health. She views farmers as the frontline of healthcare, cultivating nutrient-dense foods for a sustainable future. By embracing wellness and honoring nature’s healing power, Mona believes we can reconnect with our roots and empower ourselves to heal from within.

Mona’s HEALING

Mona has experienced first hand the healing power of food. After overcoming two heart surgeries, experiencing chronic anxiety, and burning out in the corporate world as the head of education for luxury cosmetics brands, she returned to her Ayurvedic roots and began her own healing journey, freeing herself from medication, losing 40 pounds, and healing herself from the inside out. She developed a deep understanding of the science of food, recognizing food as information that either fuels us or depletes us, and how confusing the topic of nutrition can be. Being bombarded with latest diet trends, losing touch with how to cook, and dealing with the preconceived emotions around food, Mona believes that our world makes it nearly impossible to know what the right diet is to make us feel good and live well.

To help people thrive and feel good, Mona and her team work directly with her clients and their doctors using a wide range of tests and blood labs, building an effective health program that is unique to each person’s needs, imbalances, and constitution. Furthering her own educational journey, Mona partners with world-renowned Functional Medicine doctors, scientists, and rheumatologists to stay on the cutting edge of science and nutrition to optimize her clients wellness journey.

Mona’s philolsophy can be encapsulated in this quote from her: "Movement is therapy to live well, meditation re-conditions the mind, and food is fuel to allow the mind and body to thrive”.

Mona’s LIFE

For over a decade, Mona has worked with clients on mind-body connection, the link between inflammation, gut health and vitality, and the foods that fuel optimal health. One day, while pregnant with baby India, Mona was eating Jicama in her kitchen with her husband, when they decided to pull out the juicer to make some Jicama juice. Aware of its benefits for gut health and immunity, they kept the conversation going, leading to the establishment of her own company, IQ Foods International— for which Xicama™, an innovative jicama-based food and beverage line, is the flagship brand.

Mona's philosophy is that it's time for us to take back our health, and decide that we are worth more than living with symptoms we've gotten used to. Food, meditation, and movement are the ultimate pillars to a vibrant mind and body for life.
